Episode 5: The Dawning Fire/Dawn Flame

Dark, rainy town of Renato. A thick cloud still covers the sky. Further above such a cloud, there was the top of the moon tower.

Climbing up the stairs leading to the top floor of the Moon Tower, Bell had reached the room ahead. The St. Renato Tower is an unparalleled building that Bell has ever seen. Even just coming up the stairs so far, it was a struggle.

Belle looks at the room as she breathes. From what I've seen, this is the only room that leads down the stairs, and there doesn't seem to be any other room on this floor.

There is a fine wooden desk in the center of the room, stacked with books that seem difficult on top.

Behind that desk, a wooden chair as well. The chair is painted with lacquer and feels luxurious. Every piece of furniture is marked with the Renato religion of the Three-Month Cross. There was no doubt that this was the Pope's room.

But I don't see the Pope and Emilia. At first glance, there is no storage space in this room like a toss or a shove, and there is nowhere to hide.

Then a window popped into Bell's sight. If we were to move from here to elsewhere, we'd have to go through the window. All three windows, all of which were large. That was big enough for two or three people to pass lightly.

Bell, who expects the Pope to have escaped at the end of the window, opens the window and faces out of it.

But behind Bell's predictions, it was a whole lot of sky to spread there. The sky, where the sun has already fallen, is stained with pitch-black darkness.

A peek downstairs shows the townspeople there. The crowd has been cleared since the wedding began, but many were still gathered around the Moon Tower.

Bell pulled his neck through the window and troubled his head. I can't go anywhere through this window. If you get yourself on board, you'll fall to the ground and die.

Bell, unable to grasp the Pope's whereabouts, opened all the windows as he tilted his neck to look for clues. Although I've been looking for it for a while, I don't get powerful tips.

Bell is inert and faces again through the first window he opens.

"Oh..."

With a casual peek over the window, Bell realizes there is something there. Ladder. The ladder leads up to the roof of the Moon Tower. The only place I could get from this room was on the roof. The Pope must have fled there. Being so sure, Bell cautiously climbed himself out the window and grabbed the ladder.

A wide circular rooftop was ahead of Bell, who climbed the ladder. In that place, where there is nothing to block, the buzz and the wind are making noises and blowing. There's not even something like a fence there, just a flat scaffold spread out.

There was a pope figure in it. Of course he's with Emilia. The Pope has a long cane with his left hand and has Emilia in custody with his right arm. Something seems to be whispering to Emilia.

At the same time as capturing the Pope's appearance, Bell noticed that the Pope's attire was changing. Emilia remained in her usual attire, but the Pope's attire was completely different from when she first saw it.

When I saw him in the chapel, he was dressed in white. That was exactly what the wedding deserved, but now the whole body blackens. Long enough sleeves to hide to the front, long enough hem to stick to the ground.

I never hid my face like I did at the wedding, and now the Pope's face looks clear. Her hair and beard are white, and both sides of her hair are bouncing like twats. The mustache was tied up like three dumplings stabbed on a skewer.

Beneath his eyes is a deep neighborhood, with its yellow eyes like beasts hunting for their prey. From a necklace with plenty of neck gems, the Pope's nobility is felt.

"Give Emilia back."

"... you're Belle Queer Faust, aren't you?

"Whoa, I know. Let's get you out of Verito Prison and come. Looks like he escaped into this town, but how long can he stay out of the Limia Federation?

The Pope has a mean smile on his face. The Pope must have never met Bell before. How do you know that?

"Did Raleigh tell you that?

"Oh yeah. Raleigh is my faithful pawn. I know about you and Barbara."

"But you never told Raleigh my secret, did you?

"Don't insult her ability to collect information. She knew everything. You told me all about you, didn't you?

"If you know what I mean, you talk fast. I am a black magician (Grigori) empowered by possession. Isn't it better for you to just give Emilia back?

Bell takes a big attitude. Hattering is also effective enough for enemies you have never met before. It is true that Bell has gained more power from possession (possession), but so far he has benefited less from it.

"Ha-ha-ha! I know enough that you haven't freely used that power."

Unfortunately, that was also a prospect for the Pope. Hattering doesn't work on him.

……………

"Black Moon. That is the phenomenon that Renato is most afraid of. On the night of Black Moon, you Black Sarteens lodged a demon in that body. Black Sarteen is our most abominable being. I'm the Pope. Shall I erase him immediately?

Naturally, the Pope also knew about Black Moon and Black Sarteen. Black Sarteen is the greatest enemy for Renatoism. The Pope is exorcising hostility.

………………

Listening to the Pope's words, Bell sweated cold. Based on his presence and the ability he showed in the chapel, his strength is considered considerable. Its prowess should obviously be many better than any black magician (grigori) who has ever confronted it.

"Hahahahahahaha!... but I won't do anything to make you disappear right now. I'll tell you an interesting story before I do."

Bell was uncomfortable with the Pope's words and actions.

"The door of the Haunted Inn. Have you heard of it?

"No."

"Speaking of holy doors, do you understand? Also known as Cross Gate."

"What are you talking about? What are you trying to say?

Bell had no idea what the Pope was trying to say.

"I'm trying to teach you about Black Moon! The door of the Haunted Inn is the door that separates the demonic world from the human world" Oz ”. In order to open that door, we need a special key. Never open that door. When it opens,“ Black Moon ”happens in Oz."

"⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ ⁉ \82

Another one revealed a secret about Black Moon. The door to the Ghost Inn. It was a wall not to be crossed by many.

"Well, even if you do a possessory contract, Black Moon is triggered. I mean, you Black Sarteens are an abomination that causes Black Moon. When will you open the doors of the Ghost Inn and invite the devils into the world?"

"So you want me to disappear?

"Exactly. But I am not a devil. I'll give you one last time."

The Pope protruded the captured Emilia to Bell. That was a development that Bell wouldn't expect.

Emilia runs to Bell in tears. Even if that were a moment, Bell never thought the Pope himself would free Emilia. Belle, who had been taken aback, honestly decided to rejoice with Emilia.

"Dear Knight,

Momentum as it was, Emilia held onto Bell. She seemed perfectly relieved and embraced Bell as much as she could. I'm more than happy to be back with my people.

"Emilia. I'll definitely take you back."

Belle embraces Emilia as well. This was given before the battle, the last respite. You must change your mind immediately and defeat the Pope.

That's when Bell tried to leave Emilia.

⁉ ︎

Oh, my God, didn't Emilia suddenly bite into Bell's neck muscle? I had no idea what had happened to Bell. In his battle with Raleigh, Bell's head, which was already confused, was already screwed up.

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha"

The Pope, who was watching how it was going, laughs out loud enough that it was going to reach the whole town.

"What did you do to Emilia? ⁉;"

Unraveling Emilia, Bell glances at the face of the Pope, who is far away. There's got to be something behind it that led Emilia to Bell, calling it her last hour.

"I was just brainwashing a little. Don't hide your true self."

What reminds me of Bell when I hear that is the sight of the Pope whispering something to Emilia. I guess that means the brainwashing was already complete before Bell and the Pope started the conversation.

"The real me? What do you mean?

"............... don't you get it yet? To say she was a vampire!

⁉ ︎

From the Pope's mouth, a surprising truth is conveyed. When he heard that, Bell accidentally lost his word.

"That can't be right! Raleigh was the vampire. It's not Emilia!

Raleigh is the vampire. That's the truth Bell just found out. Bell thought she wasn't supposed to be lying. It's hard to believe Emilia is a vampire.

"Exactly. Raleigh's a vampire.

"What... are you talking about?

Both Raleigh and Emilia were vampires. Bell's head was on the verge of punk.

"The load caused by the" blood curse ”was far beyond her imagination. Raleigh, who couldn't stand it, forced Emilia to carry the load."

The Pope begins to speak the unknown truth. Bell doesn't understand the story yet.

"Vampires (vampires) suck up blood from humans and kill them, but sometimes they bite lightly and deliberately keep them alive.

If you just let it live with a light bite, the bitten person will also be a vampire (vampire). A vampire born of a bite cannot use black magic (Grimoire) like Raleigh, but her teeth are pointy and she can breathe human life. "

"Original Vampires (Vampires) create Copy Vampires (Vampires) by biting them, increasing their allies. The sucked blood of the vampire (vampire) in the copy is reduced to the original vampire (vampire). In other words, this helps lighten the burden of the curse. But don't worry. A person bitten by a vampire (vampire) in a copy does not become a vampire (vampire). You can't produce a copy in a copy."

From the Pope's mouth was revealed the whole truth about the vampire (vampire) who shook Renato. Raleigh wasn't the only vampire. Raleigh shared the pain with Emilia, who was a false friend. The act of Raleigh was truly selfish.

"Me... what..."

Just after that, the brainwashing seems to have been unraveled, and Emilia is panicking. You don't seem to understand what happened.

How much of a pope is treated on an equal footing with God, its brainwashing power is not omnipotent. Brainwashing can only be hung by one person at a time, and its effect lasts only 6 minutes.

"Dear Knight... I've done a terrible thing."

Emilia covered her mouth with both hands, knowing that she had a tooth shape on Bell's neck.

"Emilia, did you know that Raleigh was a vampire?

".................. I knew. Raleigh was in pain. I couldn't watch her suffer. I wish I could help at all, and I've decided to bear the pain."

Emilia knew who Raleigh was. I knew and I bore the pain, and I didn't tell anyone the truth.

"Raleigh was a spy sent by the Moon Guard (Luna Guard). You were just being used! He didn't think Emilia was one of them."

"Well, no................................."

But Emilia had no idea that Raleigh was a spy sent in by the Moon Guard (Luna Guard). Before the first truth she knew, she lost her word for a moment.

"Still, I believe in you, Raleigh. I don't think her pleasant face that I (I) showed us is ever a lie. She certainly enjoyed her time with us!

Even knowing the truth, Emilia believed in Raleigh. The smile she showed or the illuminating face. It didn't seem to her that all of that was a lie.

Even if she was a spy, she must have enjoyed her fake life. Emilia thought so.

"... will you shut up for a second"

Listening to Emilia's words, all sorts of thoughts swirl in Bell as well. Emilia may be right, but keeping quiet while you know who the vampire is is is an unacceptable act. There was also a desire to ask Emilia, Bell, but arguing here was not a good idea.

………………

Emilia put her grief on her face.

"First thing you have to do is take this son of a bitch down."

With that cry, Belle changed her mind. Not if I blame Emilia now. Bell stared at the Pope's wrinkled face.

"That's enough. There's no more time left for you, is there?

The Pope is showing his spare time. I guess I'm confident I'll beat Bell.

"You're probably the one who doesn't have the time left, right?

Bell sarcastically runs out to the Pope. From his right hand running out, a red, shining magic formation had emerged. I'm going to pack my distance and attack at once.

"Play, kid."

When the Pope protruded his left hand, suddenly Bell's body was blown away in the opposite direction of progress. That was the opposite of Emilia's attraction in the chapel.

Bell was flown away as if he had been blown by a storm. I guess the Pope's ability to attract or blow objects is also black magic (Grimoire). The Pope manipulates many kinds of black magic (Grimoire) by himself. The common sense of the Black Mage (Grigori) does not seem to apply to the Pope.

"That's hilarious!

Bell stands up. Pope who uses a nasty move to blow up his opponent without touching him directly, but not without winning.

"I will not forgive Black Sarteen!

The Pope repeated the same attack.

At that moment, Bell lowered his posture at once, attempting to avert the Pope's attack.

The operation played its part. The bell won't blow up just like it did earlier, but it stays in the same place. What the Pope is releasing is like a shockwave, which seems to have some valid range.

"In this battle, I don't have time for you to rest for a moment!

The Pope launched the same attack before Bell changed his position. It was an attack that totally poked Bell's will, and Bell got a decent shock wave.

"Wow!

"Knight."

Twice blown away by the Pope's shockwave, Bell traveled quite a distance.

By the time I realized there was no scaffold under the bell, and its body was floating in the universe. Emilia screams when she sees the bell that's going to fall off the roof now.

"Come on!"

The bell, which was about to slip off, remained on the roof at a critical location. My left hand, stretched out as far as I could, grabbed the edge of the tile on the roof. Emilia is horrified to see it, but it doesn't change the situation where Bell is in distress.
