Episode 5: Jo and Raven/Joe and Raven

In the sunshine of the giraffed sun, in the heat of burning, the inflexible men are boarding a single ship.

A large longitudinal sail loop (a type of sailing ship).

Based on how they hold fishing rods, sprinklers, nets, etc., this sloop seems to be used as a fishing boat. The throop is small. Hit the fishing boat and follow it.

This is a port in Riorg, in the Commonwealth of Limia, 32 years ago now. Limia, known as the country of water, is more deeply involved in water and the sea than in other countries, and harbours exist in most towns.

And there's an aqueduct running through all the towns. It's the landscape you deserve to call “land of water”. Riorg, which faces the sea more often than any other town, is a port town, and its catches account for 30 percent of the country as a whole.

It's split fishing day. The rays of the sun shine down, and the sea level that shakes its light reflects as thousands of lights. It's a beautiful sight.

A sea shaking gently. The wind was pleasant too. Soon the throop with the benign men will depart the port. In such a ship, two young men were exchanging words.

"You had a ton of it yesterday, Joe."

That's what I said while showing my white teeth was a man with long dark hair all together behind him. The man who brightens his sharp, blue eyes seems to be close to a man called “Joe”.

"Not at all, Raven. In this sky, you can expect more today than yesterday."

Joe responds with a smile to Raven. Joe was a beautiful blonde, right-faced man. Joe, with his jade eyes staring somewhere far away, keeps smiling Raven forward.

That was the beginning of a little voyage, full of hope. A white, shining horizon awaits them.

"Eyes full of sails! We're going all the way to the ocean in the wind at once!

A fuzzy Captain Anderson shouted around his mouth with one hand. That appearance, which sparkled his eyes in hope in his hat, had a singular presence on board as well.

In this loop, which is relatively small as a sailboat, Captain Anderson's shouts had gone to the sailors.

There are 26 people aboard this ship, including Anderson, Raven and Joe. Fishing vessels do not sail far across the ocean. There were enough people.

It is expected that the vessel will be transported to the far ocean for a little while and sufficient catches will be left on the net for a while. The sea near Riorg is a blessing.

"It's a really easy-going operation."

Raven finishes his assigned job and speaks to Joe standing next to him. There was no extra wind, and now that it was going straight, they had no job that said this, which is the lower end.

It's been a pleasant sunny day here, and the deck was polished up beautifully during yesterday's fishing. Everything was in order, reflecting the sun's light, and there was room for both a shining water surface and a view like a gem. Exactly, as Raven put it, it's an easy job.

"Don't be too relaxed. No matter how easy it is, this place is on the ocean. If it falls, it's hard."

Joe stabbed a nail in Raven's floating mood. Joe seems to be far more objective and able to make a calm decision. Wages are also generated while we are having this conversation or staring at the water.

If you get to the ocean, you can take home tons of fish even if you don't want to. If you bring back the expected amount of fish, the sailors aboard this ship will be paid.

Most of all, these days they have had more bonuses because they bring back more fish than the company expects. It was also a favour by this blessed sea.

"Well, don't be so hard."

Raven has a face that doesn't float because Joe's reply wasn't what he expected. There's something a little too serious about Joe. Even when he wanted to cheer up with me, Joe was honest and would never take his wings off. He is such a man. Raven knew him well.

"Mr. Gopher! If you seem to have some spare time, go to the barn. I want you to see if there's anything unusual."

Anderson, who was watching the two from the side of the wheel, gave orders to one of the two, Raven Gopher.

"Eye! Captain!

Raven responds with a loud voice.

"Look, you got pressed for chores because you couldn't get along."

Raven pointed his mouth and stared gently at Joe. Still, Joe didn't change his expression in any way. He's got a really serious personality.

"Will you come with me?

The captain continued to order when he noticed that Joe, next door to him, had as much spare time as Raven Gopher. Joe is known as Joe by taking the initials of his name with familiarity from Raven.

"Eye, Captain!

Joe replied just like Raven did. Raven's mouth slackened when he saw Joe eat the convolutions.

Raven headed to the barn talking about something the whole time. Joe was just listening to it silently. If you're responding to everything he says, you don't have a cut.

"Hey Joe. What's your dream?

Raven got to the barn and made a new topic. Raven and Joe, there are only two of them in the barn.

"Raven, I have to check inside."

Serious Joe wants to get on with the job he was ordered to do, rather than having a conversation with him. In tune with the standing Raven, I'd be in trouble if it was in the eyes of danger.

"Joe, Joe! You have too much power in your shoulders! Even if we finish work early here anyway, we have nothing else to do. Just because we talked a little bit here doesn't mean it's harmful, does it?

Raven sighed at Joe, who was a little too firm. Even though I know he's serious, he's still too serious. Can I take a breath out of my shoulder once in a while? Joe is too serious for Raven, who likes to have fun and play. Still, he cared about Joe.

Hearing such Raven's words, Joe compared his eyes several times to the loads of the barn. And drop your gaze.

"I knew I was no match for you. You're absolutely right."

Joe relaxed his mouth a little and accepted his suggestion. Sometimes it's not bad to look at the future with thoughts.

"Then tell me your dreams"

"Actually, I don't know my dreams yet..."

Joe replied with a lack of confidence. Raven also turned his eyes round to this answer. I never thought I'd get a response like this.

"Oh well. Some guys like that."

Afraid the conversation would break off, Raven said that at his discretion.

"Do you have dreams?

"Oh, of course! My dream is to be rich! I want to be a millionaire!

Having heard that, Joe couldn't help but laugh. I suppose you thought the answer was too Raven. It was unusual for Joe to laugh without enduring the ridicule.

"What the fuck! I had a dream. You laughed at me!

Raven, blushing, protests Joe's reaction. I didn't even dream of laughing at my dreams. He was serious about his dreams.

"Haha, sorry. It was my fault. I think it's a fine dream, I think."

"You really think so?

Raven became skeptical when he saw Joe still smiling slightly. It lacks persuasion, even if it is said so in half or with a stubborn face.

"Isn't that obvious!

When Joe said that, now he laughed out loud without patience. Apparently, he got hooked on his laugh bump. When this happens, I can't stop laughing anymore. Joe kept laughing a lot.

"It's terrible, you..."

Raven dropped his gaze and said so. We talked about dreams with friendly people and didn't think we'd be ashamed of ourselves so far.

And I didn't even know Joe would laugh so much fun.

"I'm not lying! Even those of us who are still apprentices are being paid extra thanks to this blessed sea. It's not a dream to be a millionaire if you keep up the good work!

Joe, who finally suppressed his laughter, returned to a serious look. The sea of Riorg was very blessed. You're already lucky to be able to work in this harbor.

"Ah, ah. Sure you do."

Raven also regains his calm and replies by shaking off as much embarrassment as he did earlier.

"I think it's a very realistic dream. Even now you're saving up quite a bit, and if you get promoted, you're saving money! What do you want from being a millionaire?

Joe mentions that Raven's dream is highly feasible and further pursues his dream.

"After I became a millionaire... I didn't even think about it. I dare not build a decadent house in this town. And... maybe even your dreams will support you."

After fulfilling my current dream. I didn't even think about that. If he could be big rich anyway, I'm glad. After that, I guess I thought the extra money would fix it.

"That's gratifying. But I haven't decided on my dream yet."

Joe smiled calmly. There was a very good relationship between Raven and Joe. We can trust each other, crack our bellies and discuss it.

"Whenever you decide to dream before you, it's not weird! I'll support your dreams. I think you're going to accomplish something big."

He had a vague sense of possibility for Joe. I don't know what that is.

But Joe has some special potential. Something I can't help but think so, there was certainly something in him.

"Such a big deal. I'm a regular sailor. Even if I did, I'd probably raise my catch of Riorg."

Joe humbled himself. For him, who had not yet set specific goals, there was no reason to know the possibilities hidden in him.

Now the only future I can imagine from the reality in front of me is in my head.

"Damn... I knew you'd be Joe no matter where you went"

Now Raven starts laughing, as he did in retribution earlier, and once he started laughing, he stopped. If I keep laughing for a while, I won't know what's funny anymore.

"It's terrible, Raven!

Joe laughed and protested at him like that. Very smiling sight. Even though Captain Anderson didn't do any of the work he asked for, the two of them were feeling very fulfilled. I wish this happy routine would last forever, but that's what the two of us thought.

Some time later the two had finished checking the barn entrusted to Captain Anderson and were returning to the Captain on the rear deck.

"Hmm, that didn't seem unusual."

Anderson looks satisfied as he glances through his stored jaw beard.

"We will soon arrive at the fishing grounds. I was wondering if you could get the net ready."

"Eye, Captain!

The two aligned their voices and received an order from the captain. Fishing begins the same as usual. Nets are dropped from both sides of the boat, and to the extent the nets cannot be covered, the crew uses fishing rods to catch fish.

In this abundant sea, just dropping nets once was a big fishery. Even without bait, a good harvest is enough to be expected.

A great deal of catches are promised in Riorg, but in other parts of the Union of Limia there are places where little fish can be taken, so to speak of water countries. As a result, even if there were more catches than expected, there would be no loss. It's balanced.

After the anchor is unloaded, the net is dropped from both sides for a short time.

The sailors, who had already gone through the same task many times, had dropped their nets as they had conversations with accustomed hands. Don't forget to sprinkle the bait afterwards.

"Hey guys! You're gonna stick around for eight hours. Blessed is the sky today as well. I'm taking a ton of them home!

Captain Anderson shouted out loud to boost the morale of the crew.

"Eye, Captain!

The crew replied with a loud enough voice to beat the captain almost at the same time. As the captain thought. From now on they will bring their fishing rods over to catch fish as usual. A large tank was also available for putting that fish in.

The crew, who do not have fishing poles, are pouring the water drawn from the sea into their tanks. It was not necessary to draw in so much seawater because of the large fish expected.

Each of the sailors leaned against the edge of the bow or put a cheek wand on it, waiting for the fish to catch it.
