381 Energy Sense Test

"So the Faux bowl method does work." Jyu'so chuckled. "You did well to spot it out in no time. Gorrum was right, you've gotten accustomed to the energies in no time."

"I would say he's above a new recruit. He's sharp." Gorrum pulled the bowl away. "Now tell me what you saw."

"It was wispy." Keng told them. "I may have physically saw the water and floating wood piece but it was wispy like a ghost. I physically didn't feel the water or wood piece. Only the bowl. That's when I noticed the energy was the piece that was missing. Also the way you described energy doesn't fully fit mine, Sir Gorrum."

"How is it then?" Jyu'so asked.

"I saw white, gray and gold wooden piece."

"You saw colors?" Gorrum asked.

"Mhmm. I felt them and in my head they showed up as colors."

"Do you see anything else? Just the colors?" Jyu'so asked, intrigued now.

'It's been awhile since I've come across someone who's capable of seeing Energy colors. I wonder if this one will shape up well as a potential Seer.' Jyu'so thought.

"Rough shapes." Keng replied. "They sometimes take the form of what I'm seeing but it doesn't hold its shape. It's… always changing."

"Now we'll do the rest of the senses." Gorrum stood up and moved over to a closed cabinet. He opened it, revealing the contents inside. Keng's ears immeidately heard a loud screeching noise. He quickly covered his ears as Jyu'so nodded.

"It seems he can hear one of them already." Jyu'so told Gorrum. "I don't think we need to worry about that one. Bring out the other three." Gorrum nodded and grabbed three different things out of the cabinet and closed it. As Gorrum set them down, Keng studied the three objects.

The three objects had a glow to it. The first one was a sculpted bird out of some sort of light wood. It's eyes immediately caught Keng's attention. It looked like the bird was… staring at him. Gorrum set the second one down. This one was probably the most faintest in terms of its glow. It was dried leaves wrapped tightly with rough string. The last one was the strangest looking out of them all. It was a bowl filled with small clear orbs.

"Sight, smell, and taste are all that's left. Let's start with sight." Gorrum motioned to the bird. "Tell me what you see, only. Don't touch it." Keng lowered his head, setting his head on top of his hands as they crossed each other and touched his shoulders. He peered at the bird's strange eyes. There was something about its eyes that made him not take his eyes off of it.

One moment he was focused on it and the next moment he was shaking out of his daze. He rubbed is eyes and looked at the bird.

'Did it move?' Keng wondered. He continued to study it. There was a slight ghostly appearance radiating off the bird. Keng could barely see the other outline as he looked away from it.

"There's some sort of ghostly energy radiating off of the bird." Keng pointed at the bird. He looked at Jyu'so and Gorrum. "Is that what's supposed to happen?"

"Correct." Gorrum nodded. He reached out and grabbed the bird. Keng watched as the energy flashed and the aura of the bird grew large. "It's aura energy is what we test. It looks like you barely registered on Sight." He moved the bird to the side, energy immediately dissipating. "Let's move onto the next one. Smell this."

Keng watched as Gorrum pulled the tight strings off of the dry leaves and pull the leaves away. Keng leaned in and didn't smell anything from the sticky rice looking thing.

"I don't smell anything." Keng looked at Gorrum and Jyu'so.

"Nothing?" Gorrum raised his eyebrows at the question. Keng shook his head and Gorrum simply wrapped it back up and moved it to the side. Jyu'so waved his hand in front of his nose.

"It still smells even today." Jyu'so coughed. "Energy smells are a strange thing. It's useful when you're following a trail because it can't be easily removed by the wind." Keng listened to Elder Jyu'so's explanation on Energy Smell. "It's a wonderful tracking ability but sometimes the smells are awful…"

"Let's continue with taste, shall we?" Gorrum moved the bowl filled with small orbs to Keng. "Try one." Gorrum motioned. Keng nodded and picked one of the clear orbs and popped it in his mouth. It had the consistency of jello and tasted sweet for its clear appearance.

"Mmm, sweet." Keng looked at Gorrum and Jyu'so. "Is it supposed to be this sweet?" He continued to chew at it. He felt a sharp shock in his mouth, suddenly stopping what he was doing and clutching his cheek. "Ouch. What the hell was that?"

"Elder Jyu'so have you ever seen someone who's that capable with Taste as an Energy Sensory?" Gorrum asked.

"It's been many centuries since I've seen someone with this high of a caliber. It's usually more subtle, but the Silver child seems to have felt what was only described to me as 'a shocking discovery.'" Jyu'so replied. He looked at Keng, who was debating on whether or not he should finish eating the jello or not as he massaged his cheek. "Keng, what in specific do you feel when you ate that?"

"It's sweet." Keng groaned. "Tastes like jello, but there's this strong shocking feeling like… like… Like something happened."

"What happened?" Jyu'so asked. Keng swallowed the round jello eyed the other jello-like orbs like he wanted another one. He closed his eyes as he moved his jaw side to side. The orbs ignited and he found himself seeing a seaside village.

"A seaside village?" Keng mumbled. The image moved forward towards the beach. A humanoid man popped out of the water as a woman on the beach handed him some jello. "A woman's giving a man who came out of the water some jello." Gorrum looked at Jyu'so who nodded.

"Anything else?" Jyu'so asked. Keng waited but the image started to fad. He shook his head and opened his eyes.

"No, that's it." Keng told them. "So what's this all mean? I'm getting images in my head because of the jello?"

"You're getting an image because the jello is infused with the maker. These jello-like orbs are made from the lady in your vision. She has gained quite the popularity with the Merfolk because of her Otherworldy Pearls. She knows how to make those with Taste Energy Sensory understand the feeling of that specific energy sensory ability." Jyu'so answered.

"As for the other ones, we test you on your five senses so we know what we should train you on. You have successfully found what your Energy Sensories are. Hearing, Sight, and Taste. Hearing and Taste are your two best senses. We will work on that as much as we can, but in the mean time I'll train you to heighten your Sight ES (Energy Sensory). Once it's acceptable, we'll go to the village you saw in your vision." Gorrum explained.

"The village?" Keng looked at the both of them.

"Remember, I told you would be coming with me back to my village by the sea? The village you saw is my village. The lady who made these Otherworldly Pearls will train you on Taste ES." Jyu'so answered.

"And who will train me in hearing?"

"When that time comes, you'll know who it is. I'm sure you'll be able to hear them if you're perceptive enough with your Sight." Gorrum tapped the side of his eye. "For now, we'll prepare to journey to the Saviors Tomb. You said you wanted to stay there, correct?"

"Yeah. Why are we going? I thought you said you'd have to talk to Elder Jyu'so about it before we left." Keng looked at the both of them.

"We did." Jyu'so nodded. "I have some business to attend to here. We will reconvene in about two months time. In that time, you must strengthen your ES Sight. If you can pass Gorrum's tests, you and I will head to Pea'ir together."

"What about Gorrum?" Keng glanced at the burly feathered man.

"I have to return to my station. I'm only here to teach you what you must know about Energy Manipulation and Energy Sensory. After I've done what is needed, you'll start the next leg of your training with Elder Jyu'so." Gorrum answered. Keng nodded and sighed. His fate was put in front of him yet he couldn't help but think about his partner.

'Is Lee Seng okay?' Keng asked himself. He had clawed at his heart like Lee Seng had done so. In that moment, he could feel the pull of the orb.

"What?" Keng muttered out loud. He felt the pull and for a moment, he swore he could hear Lee Seng.

'Why isn't it working?' Lee Seng asked.

'What? Lee?' Keng shot up from his seat. 'Can you hear me?'

'Memories were either altered or created… Keng is gone… why. The Protocol… little time. Hostile…  Nicole…'
