Chapter 6 Bats

That night, Bruce stayed at Howlett Manor, leaving the big bed in Wayne Manor for the first time, and had some insomnia.

Sitting at the desk and looking at the stars, although the second industrial revolution has already begun, in Canada, it seems that the pollution is not serious!

The stars are like a place within reach, hanging on the dome with twinkling lights. The light in Bruce’s room had been turned off long ago, and only the figure standing by the window sill seemed very peaceful.

The night is deep, and a bat spreads its wings and flies in the manor. The explorer in this dark night is not uncommon in Alberta, especially in the settlements of various manors.

Because there will be light at night in these places, which will attract those flying insects, so bats come here to forage. He even built a nest on the roof of the manor castle altogether. This bat is living on the top of the attic of Howlet Manor.

“Ah…” A scream broke the tranquil night and awakened the entire manor, not to mention Bruce, who had not yet fallen asleep.

So he quickly turned on the light, then opened the door and drove in the direction of the sound.

On the way, I met the manor John in pajamas, and his wife Elizabeth.

“Excuse me to rest, Bruce!” John said to Bruce as he walked. Elizabeth beside him also nodded to Bruce. The lady seemed to be in a bad mood every day and her face was depressed.

“No, this is James’ voice. Is something wrong?” Bruce asked.

“This… let’s go see it together!” John didn’t know what was going on either.

The conversation was at the door of James’ room: “Hey… are you okay?” John opened the door and asked James who was lying on the bed.

“A bat flew in! It frightened me!” James’ face was still pale, but his voice was slightly puffed up, and it seemed that he had recovered in the night.

“What an ugly guy!” Bruce saw the bat still flying in the air at a glance, muttered in his mouth, then grabbed a rag in the corner and hit it directly.

It stands to reason that this light and fluttering rag couldn’t hit the bat. The fact is that the bat dodged a turn.

But at this moment, something seemed to be wrapped in the rag, and it flew out, hitting the bat flying in the air with a snap!

“God used my hand to clean up you, so I dare to scare James!” Bruce looked at the bat that was smashed down, and the small book, it was this book that hit the bat.

“Let it go, or?” Bruce asked!

“Well, I think it’s better to lock it up in a cage first, and send it to the forest over there tomorrow!” John wasn’t going to kill this ugly creature, but he didn’t plan to let it stay in the manor.

“Okay!” Bruce didn’t want to kill the bat, so a small metal cage was taken up by the manor’s night watch servant Alex. Get out.

Putting the cage in his hand, Bruce left James’ room. Although Alex wanted to take over, Bruce didn’t give it to him. This was the first time he caught a bat in his two lives. He wanted to see this guy and the mouse. How big is the difference between them!

Bruce took the cage with bats back to his room until the next day before sending it to the distant red pine forest.

Without a word for a night, Bruce finally fell asleep after counting hundreds of sheep, and didn’t get up until the next day on three poles!

By this time John and Mrs. Elizabeth were already eating breakfast downstairs.

Seeing Bruce come down, the two smiled at him: “How was Bruce resting last night?”

“I think I seem to recognize the bed!” The dark circles on Bruce’s face revealed that he hadn’t rested last night.

“That’s not a good habit! As a manor owner, you need to inspect your territory. It’s a big project. You can’t come back in three or five days. What should you do?” John shook his head.

“I think it will get better, at least I don’t have to go now, don’t I!” Bruce said.

“Poor Bu Lois, he might have to wait if he wants to retire!” John and Bu Lois have a very good relationship. The two have met since Bu Lois only had a few hundred acres of land.

“It’s not that bad! You should eat more vegetables as a teenager. Vitamin C helps you sleep!” said Mrs. Elizabeth.

In this way, in the absence of James, Bruce ate breakfast, then changed his clothes and prepared to send away the bat from last night!

When he went back downstairs again, James was already basking in the sun on the terrace outside the gate of the manor. He was weak and sick, and more sun exposure was good for his health.

“Good morning, Bruce!” James greeted Roar to Bruce.

“Good for you too! James, your complexion is much better, and you will recover soon!”

“Thank you!” A smile appeared at the corner of James’ mouth, and his lips were not much bloody but only a hint of redness.

“Master James, I came to see you!” A voice came from At the moment, which seemed to be the voice of a teenager.

“It’s Doug!” James smiled again, and it was Doug who was originally scheduled to be Thomas’ son. James is one of the few playmates, definitely this Doug is several years older than him. At the moment is already a twelve-year-old File size guy.

From the age of four, this Doug worked with Thomas in Howlet Manor, and when he was working at Thomas, Doug became James’ playmate.

This time, Thomas called Doug to come here, not just for James, but also for another reason.

Doug looked at the slender figure standing next to James: “Hello, I am Doug, I was supposed to be Thomas’ son!”

“Bruce Wayne!”

“Are you from Wayne Manor?”

“Yes!”

The two met each other for a while, and Doug turned his attention to James. For Bruce, although his father Thomas wanted to make him by himself, how could he compare to himself? Only James is his best partner!

Taking advantage of this time, Bruce also observed this young man named Doug, who was tall and should be about one meter eight meters tall. Such a height seemed a little unexpected for a twelve-year-old boy. And the muscles all over his body seemed to be full of explosive power.

“This is definitely not the body that a twelve-year-old should have!” Bruce made such an evaluation of Doug.
