Alien Knights

Chapter 703 Hope of the Living

Twilight West City Northern Research Institute.

In the huge laboratory, Wayne stood behind the isolation glass and watched the neatly dressed researchers carefully lift a half-meter-long sealed lead box onto the operating table.

Wayne asked the assistant beside him: "When did you find out?"

"Early this morning."

"Where is the location?"

"In the bushes by the gate."

Wayne frowned and asked again: "Just leave it there like that?"

Assistant: "Yes, just leave it there."

Wayne: "Who put it there? With so many sentries, no one saw the deliverer of this box?!"

The assistant shrank his neck: "I asked, no one saw the intruder, the box...it seemed like it appeared out of thin air..."

Perhaps feeling that his words were getting more and more outrageous, the assistant lowered his volume unconsciously.

Wayne glanced at his assistant, said nothing, and focused all his attention on the lead box on the surgical examination table.

It was a strange-looking box with exquisite and complicated patterns on the outside, but the material was heavy cloud lead.

The researcher, whose whole body was protected by the keel, deformed the keel limbs into the shape of a blade and aimed it at the interface of the lead box.

"Sir, I am ready and can start at any time."

Wayne nodded: "Open the box."

Carefully inserting the keel limbs into the gaps in the lead box, the researcher slowly pried open the box, and a cold mist flowed out from inside.

Wayne leaned closer to the glass wall and asked, "What's inside?"

The researcher opened his eyes wide and said hesitantly: "There are some things inside...it seems to have been frozen..."

Wayne asked: "What?"

Researcher: "I don't know...it looks...kind of like an organ of some kind of creature."

Wayne was stunned: "Organs?"

The researcher stretched his neck, took a closer look, and then said, "There seems to be some writing engraved on the back of the box cover."

Wayne: "What text? Read it!"

The researcher tried hard to distinguish it for a while, and said in frustration: "It's not a common text, it's a type I haven't seen before..."

Wayne slapped the wall and said angrily: "You idiot! Find a piece of paper! Find a pen! Copy that paragraph and show it to me!"

The researcher hurriedly copied down the text and then pasted the paper on the glass.

Wayne struggled to distinguish the poor handwriting and muttered to himself: "It's the ancient Tero language...toward...towards death."

"Live to die... live to die..."

Wayne lowered his head and read this sentence several times. For a moment, he seemed to suddenly think of something. He raised his head and shouted loudly: "Notify the Xenobiotic Biochemical Library and ask them to prepare the extraction device and separation device immediately!"

Everyone in the laboratory was stunned by Wayne's sudden shout.

Wayne roared upon seeing this: "You idiots! Are you all deaf?!"

Watching the others leave in a hurry, Wayne once again pressed his face against the glass wall and said word by word to the researcher inside: "Protect the thing in the box and don't let it suffer any damage, otherwise I swear to the Dragon God, I will personally stuff you into a barrel of concentrated sulfuric acid and soak you for three days and three nights!"

The researcher looked back at the box and swallowed: "Sir, what on earth is that?"

Wayne said with an excited expression: "Dispel the light of death, the hope of all living people..."

Same time, sister hotel.

"Pamela, Cosette, are you two sure you don't want to go south with me?"

Sitting on a chair on the balcony, enjoying afternoon tea while soaking in the sunshine, Rachel looked at the two women in front of her with a smile.

Cosette hesitated for a moment, and just about to open her mouth to speak, she found that the corner of her clothes was pulled twice by Pamela.

Pamela said awkwardly towards Rachel: "Sister Rachel, Cosette and I don't have any strong abilities, so I'm afraid we can't be of much help."

Rachel looked at Pamela's evasive eyes and whispered: "I heard that you found a lover in Twilight City and are engaged?"

Pamela opened her mouth to argue, but realized in Rachel's eyes that all the lies were in vain, and finally shut her mouth honestly.

There was no accusation or force. After a moment of silence, Rachel said: "I understand how you two feel. This city has been with you for too long, and it is normal to be reluctant to leave. Since you want to stay, then stay Get off."

Pamela, who felt like she was being pardoned, hurriedly thanked her, pulled Cosette and ran down the stairs.

Hearing the noise, Karin groped her way out of the room and slowly moved towards Rachel's position.

Karin: "They two don't want to go?"

Rachel took a sip of tea and said softly: "Yeah."

Karin: "Without Todd, Pamela would be just a toy at the aristocratic ball, and Cosette would be just a wild man hiding in a cave..."

Rachel put down the tea cup: "Everyone has their own comfort zone. It is easy to enter the circle, but difficult to get out. I am not surprised by their decision."

Karin sat across from Rachel while groping: "Going south to find Todd, almost everyone thinks this is a mission with no chance of survival."

Rachel looked at Karin: "What about you? Are you willing to go?"

Karin nodded vigorously and said: "I must go. As long as I can help Todd, even a little bit, I will never back down...but..."

Rachel: "But? But what?"

Karin: "My eyes haven't healed yet. I'm worried that not only will I not be able to help, but I will also cause more trouble."

Rachel leaned forward and held Karin's hand: "As long as you want, you can help."

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a loud noise from downstairs.

Rachel turned her head downstairs and whispered: "She's here."

Karin: "She? Who is here?"

Not long after, a petite figure wrapped in a robe appeared at the door of the room and said coldly to Rachel: "You must be crazy."

Rachel smiled and said, "No, Sabrina, I'm not crazy. I want you to go back to the Presbyterian Church with me."

Sabrina?

The assassin with the power of blood possession?

Hearing this familiar name, Karin froze on the spot for a moment.

Sabrina: "You should know what the South has become now...it would be suicide to go there now!"

Rachel picked up the tea cup again, took a leisurely sip of tea, and said to Sabrina: "Do you still remember the promise I made to you?"

Sabrina's body trembled slightly, and after a long time, she whispered: "That is an unrealistic promise."

Rachel shook her head and said, "You know me, I never make promises that are impossible to fulfill."

Sabrina stood there, biting her lip and thinking for a long time, and finally said in a low voice: "What do you need me to do?"

Rachel leaned completely into the lounge chair, slowly closed her eyes, enjoying the sunshine, and murmured: "You will know soon..."
