Alien Knights

Chapter 342 Complaint

The outdoor sunlight poured into the room along the windows of the second-floor patio, stirred up a little dust, and flowed quietly.

After struggling for a while, Todd, who was sore all over his body, opened his heavy eyelids, first looked up at the beam of light projected from the roof, and then lowered his head to find two flawless white arms on his chest.

The madness of the three of them last night is still vivid in my memory. Todd, who has never experienced such an experience, now thinks back, and his face still has a little heat.

He turned his head and saw Rachel and Deirdre, naked, lying beside him.

Todd's two arms were pressed under them respectively, and his blood was stagnant for a long time, which made his muscles ache a little.

Rachel, who was awakened by the movement of the person beside her, opened her eyes and glanced at Todd, and said weakly, "I'm so tired, let me sleep for a while."

Todd slowly withdrew his arm, then kissed her forehead, and turned his gaze to Deirdre again.

The latter closed his eyes tightly, his long eyelashes trembling slightly, but he was clearly pretending to be asleep.

Todd didn't intend to expose her, he just gently moved the arms of the two women on his chest, and then rolled over from the end of the bed.

Back on the first floor, Todd, who was fully dressed, found the camp servants, asked for some food, sat at the dining table and ate while waiting for the two upstairs to come down.

While recalling the beautiful scenes of last night, while trying his best to suppress the little uneasiness in his heart, Todd waited for almost an hour, and finally he heard the sound of footsteps at the stairway.

Rachel, who was only wearing a linen robe, came downstairs stretching and yawning, followed by Deirdre who was walking cautiously and falteringly.

Glancing at the woman hiding behind her, Rachel complained to Todd: "You were too rude last night! You scared her!"

Todd's face was somewhat apologetic and embarrassed, and he wanted to explain something to Deirdre: "Yesterday, I..."

When the words came to his lips, he didn't know what to say, so he had no choice but to close his mouth in the end.

Rachel brought Deirdre to the dining table and gestured for her to sit down. The latter's lower body just touched the chair, and stood up again with a painful face.

Seeing Deirdre's expression, Rachel knew it well and brought a cushion from the recliner, put it on the chair, and helped Deirdre to sit on it.

"Rachel, I want to ask you..." Todd peeked at Deirdre at the table, and asked quietly, "What happened yesterday, why..."

Rachel broke open the rye cake, took a small bite, and replied, "Are you dissatisfied with what happened last night?"

"No, no, I don't have any dissatisfaction, I just don't understand why you would take her..."

Rachel stirred the meat porridge in front of her with a wooden spoon, and suddenly said to Todd: "I know what you want to ask, let's put it this way, I have seen a lot of images from your world, and there are many images and sounds in it. Men and women should have the same status."

"But this world is completely different from yours. Women are more like a tool, a decoration, and a symbol. Women can't get what men have equally." Rachel threw the spoon into the wooden bowl, and laughed at herself: "Even the Bible that promotes the equality of believers is written in black and white. Women are just a rib of a man."

Todd shook his head and said, "But you have to know, I never thought of that..."

Rachel interrupted him with a smile: "Even so, if it's just an ordinary woman, the worst thing is to marry a man with a heart and spend her whole life alone in an empty room. But if it's a woman of a different race, then her experience will be completely different. I've been to many kingdoms over the years, women, beautiful women, especially beautiful women of different races, their pursuit of love often ends in tragedy."

"In the Kingdom of Shabein, I once met a beautiful shepherdess. Her ability was to turn rough stones into shining diamonds. A male nobleman used sweet words to deceive her body and love, and tricked her into producing diamonds continuously. In the end, the shepherdess died of petrification because of excessive use of abilities, and her body was thrown into the sea by his husband."

Todd's eyes widened in disbelief when he heard this.

Rachel continued: "Perhaps you would want to say that if a heterogeneous married a heterogeneous, then this kind of tragedy would not happen, but the reality is just the opposite. Most heterogeneous men would rather hide their identities and marry a normal woman than give their love to a heterogeneous."

Todd asked strangely: "Why?"

"Because of fear." Rachel glanced at the dejected Deirdre: "Only the alien knows how terrifying the existence of supernatural powers is. When you share the bed with your wife, you may be burned to ashes in your sleep; when you eat the food made by your partner, you may die of poison immediately; when you have a tryst with your lover, your lover may have seen everything clearly..."

"Someone once said that the heterogeneous group is the most redundant existence in this world; and the heterogeneous woman is the most excluded group in the heterogeneous group." Rachel said with a lonely look: "We dare not open our hearts to any man, because we know that there is no sincerity waiting for us, only discrimination and exploitation."

Hearing this, Todd somewhat understood Rachel's feelings.

Deirdre lowered her head and said sadly: "I am the best example. I always thought I would be happy..."

Rachel took a deep look at Deirdre, and said with a rare tenderness in her tone, "Boyle is dead, but you are still alive. If you cannot extricate yourself from the memory of the dead, sooner or later you will be dragged into the endless abyss of pain."

Listening to the conversation between the two women, Todd asked hesitantly: "Rachel, I have one thing to confirm. Is Deirdre with me because of affection or asylum? If it's the latter, I will not ask her to make any sacrifices that go against her original intention, and I will also provide help."

When Rachel heard this, she suddenly chuckled: "Todd, you always overcomplicate things. If she didn't have feelings for you, she definitely wouldn't choose to be with you. As far as I know, it's not her personality to trade her body for a safe haven. What do you say, Deirdre?"

Deirdre raised her head, nodded to Rachel first, and then said: "During this time, Rachel took me to the Institute of Soul Space and explained your identity and experience to me."

"From the trial of heresy to the construction of Muxi City, from the head of the Knights to the king of Muxi Kingdom, I have seen your efforts, your vision and your goals." Deirdre's face showed shyness and longing: "Your inspiring words and actions of giving up power have made everyone see hope that they never had before."

Deirdre said softly but firmly: "But if that's all, you are nothing more than a great monarch to me. What really moved me was that you treated everyone around you sincerely, and you selflessly helped them and guided them. Even a stranger like me, who only met me a few times, spared no effort to save...Last night, by your side, for the first time in my life, I had a beautiful dream. In the dream, I felt the safety and peace that I had never had before. The real reason..."
