Alexander The Great Mage

Chapter 117 - FIRE!

Enhanced by the direct use of the Crystal Sword, the golden energy sliced through the wave of drones like so many hot knives through butter. After a few seconds, the explosion finally happened.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

This time, the explosion was much more intense and powerful compared to the previous one. Many drones that were not hit directly by the golden energy were smashed to pieces by the explosion of their fellow drones. Only a few hundred managed to burst through the massive cloud of explosion with relatively mild damage and continued in their attack.

However, the first attack by the Star of Symphonia was as good as over. The few hundred drones fired their mini energy beams and threw themselves on Alexander. But destroying a few hundred drones was as simple as kicking a child's toy for a Scion King like Alexander. He was much too powerful for them.

With a single glance, the space around the few hundred drones collapsed and crushed them to pieces.

BOOM!!

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Right after the few hundred drones exploded, Alexander did not stop there to taunt the enemy as many heroes in epic stories would have done. He immediately launched  a series of his own attacks.

The golden energy released by his Crystal Sword sped towards the massive Starship. This time however, Alexander had infused his attacks with the extremely rare and difficult to control element of… time.

"I wonder what effect it will have on the Starship's shields?" Alexander thought to himself as he gasped lightly. The three simple slashes had surprisingly drawn a huge amount of his energy reserves. He was left with less than half of his power!

The answer that came a few seconds later left him absolutely flabbergasted and pleasantly surprised.

The golden energy pierced through the Starship's shield as though it wasn't even there!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!!

The golden energy pierced through the lower portion of the bridge and continued all the way out the other side.

And everything in the path of the three powerful slashes simply… disappeared.

It was as though everything was consumed by the golden energy and the space where the golden energy passed through was sent back to a specific point of time.

And judging by the emptiness, it was sent to a time before the Starship arrived, apparently.

"AMAZING!" Alexander exclaimed. "This… This is true power!!" He sent out his senses to the horrendous gashes on the Starship that he had created.

Time there flowed normally. So his slashes simply sent everything within the path of the golden energy back in time, and immediately reverted to normal time. He basically took a chunk of the Starship and threw it back in time!

If used on a stationary object that had been stationary for a long time, the slash would have absolutely no effect. It was simply because the space that the stationary object had occupied at the point of time to which it was thrown to was exactly the same as when the slash hit it.

However, if the stationary object had been recently moved to a new position, and the slash hit it, the space it occupied in the new position would revert back to a previous time, and depending on the power of the slash, might revert to a time where the stationary object did not occupy the space in the new position, and thus the object would be destroyed.

It was absolutely incredible.

"Damn it, if I had known that the element of time is so powerful, I would have used it more often instead of the space energy!" Alexander said to himself rather ruefully. "But the energy consumption of the time attack is totally ridiculous. I wouldn't have gotten much attacks out at all if I keep using it. Better to use it in a surprise attack like this one. Maximum impact physically and psychologically. Prince Flario must be freaking out."

Alexander chuckled evilly.

Prince Jolto was able to accurately pin-point the general area where the Star of Symphonia will appear earlier on, and as soon as the space ripples confirmed the arrival of the Starship, Alexander had launched his attacks.

The plan was to simply stall for time until Princess Hilda arrived while The Tiger Lord retreated to a safe distance. And in full Alexander the Great style of doing things, he had decided to attack as much as he could, and keep Prince Flario's attention on him instead of on looking for The Tiger Lord or on landing on Arcanus 26.

"I guess I have their full attention now huh? Heck, why should I stop with just having their attention? PRESS THE ATTACK!" Alexander roared out with great power and released a couple more time elemental slashes infused with the Power of Perses at the bridge.

These two slashes would be the final two time elemental slashes he could fire off for a long time, and would render him rather weak for the next hour or so. But hey, the enemy didn't know that.

WEEEOOOOOOOOOOO! WWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

The massive gashes had created holes and powerful suction forces out to space. Thousands had immediately succumbed to the suction forces and were killed instantly. Thousands more had died when the horrific golden energy had passed through them.

Prince Flario glanced at the absolute mayhem that ensued in his bridge coldly.

"Engage emergency lockdown."

Immediately, powerful walls shot out near the massive gashes and closed the holes, resolving one emergency quickly.

"Full power to anti-magic shields. Secondary cannons, fire at will! Repositin main cannon, raise it twenty five degrees, away from Arcanus 26, keep the enemy in range, fire on my command. Damage report."

"Sir, we lost ten Planetary Governors, Special Ops Division from within the Intelligence Department and seventy mothership commanders. Starship crew intact." An aide reported.

"Sir! Two more energy beams detected! Anti-magic shields are losing power fast! Seventy percent… Fifty percent… Twenty percent… Stabilizing!"

Prince Flario took a deep breath and struggled to get his emotions under control. He had just lost almost eighty percent power resisting two slashes from one man. ONE man!!

This special asset of his was definitely a true Universe Level threat. Just what happened in his time in Arcanus 26 that made him so powerful?!

"Send out an emissary for parley." Prince Flario finally commanded.

Any more slashes and he would lose the fight even before he got anything done.

"Sending out Emissary on Alert Five, Sir Blackwood. Hatch opened. Emissary Peacecraft enroute. ETA two minutes."

Prince Flario gritted his teeth slightly. To be forced to send out an emissary against a single man. What a disgrace!

"EMISSARY PEACECRAFT DESTROYED!" The aide suddenly shouted in shock.

"Main cannon status report!" Prince Flario barked immediately in response.

"Charged and ready!"

"FIRE!" Prince Flario roared.

"Where is he?" Aleyria asked Blackfire nervously. They were currently in space, just above Arcanus 26. Aleyria had never felt so tiny and insignificant before. The absolutely mindblowing size of space had rendered her speechless for many minutes.

"He is right there, near the Starship that just appeared. Look, the enemy has launched drones to attack him." Blackfire replied.

He was in dragon form and he had casted a powerful sphere around them to allow them to breathe normally.

Even with his magnificent size, he was still tiny.

"Are you moving at all? Why isn't the Starship getting closer?" Aleyria asked while frowning lightly.

Blackfire chuckled.

"I am moving at full speed. That Starship might look close, but it is actually extremely far away. Alexander must have teleported there."

"How long will you take to reach him?" Aleyria asked.

"Without teleportation, probably two hours." Blackfire estimated.

"Two hours! The battle will be over in half an hour!" Aleyria cried. "We need to teleport there and support him."

"I can cut the time to approximately five minutes, maybe six, if I teleport multiple times. But I will drain a large amount of my power by doing that. I do not think we would be much help if we arrived by his side devoid of any fighting strength. In fact, we would only be a distraction and a burden. Better to go there slowly but with our fighting strength intact." Blackfire advised.

Aleyria sighed deeply. She knew Blackfire was right.

"Look, he has managed to damage the Starship. Alexander is truly powerful." Blackfire marvelled.

"I can't see anything. I'm not a dragon and I do not have dragon eyes like you." Aleyria said with slight irritation.

"Let me describe it for you then. Alexander sent out three golden beams of energy which somehow passed through the Starship's shield and pierced the Starship itself. Right now, two more beams of energy are hurtling through space and… Oh wow. The Starship's anti-magic shields are holding. Not bad at all. But it's dimming quite significantly. I think the energy beams will prevail… Nope. The shields are holding. A hatch is opening, and a small ship is coming out of it. It is moving towards Alexander… It's out of the Starship's shields and accelerating… Oh my God Alexander destroyed that ship with a quick slash!"

"What? Why would he do that?" Aleyria exclaimed in worry.

"He was pr-" Blackfire began.

But before he could say much, a blinding beam of light erupted from the Starship's main cannon!
