15 – Arsha’s Obsession

“The Leoris family’s wagon is really amazing. Even if we spend all the money our family has earned so far, I don’t think we will be able to buy a carriage like this.”

John made a fuss as he inspected the carriage.

“That sounds natural. A common baker would have to ‘invent’ bread to buy a carriage like this.”

Arsha threw a word at John.

Sarah’s shoulders shook at John’s praise.

“hehehehe~! Yes? My father was very interested in wagons, so he gave me some strength. Certainly, it’s not a wagon you can easily see anywhere.”

Sarah left out her own story of giving her father a face-lift so that he could buy more of her lab tools if he had time to waste money. Because she doesn’t need to wear a sajok.

“This is amazing. She even wants to become a servant of the Leoris family.”

Sierra also joined the praise procession. Seriously, she had no intention of becoming a servant of the Leoris family. She is assigned a seat by John’s side.

‘If John becomes the butler of the Leoris family….’

Then the story is different. Isn’t it almost official that there is such a relationship between a butler and a maid?

There was no such thing as a noble aristocrat on the level of Leoris reaching out to a servant.

Sara and Sierra, two women with similar names, laughed hysterically at different thoughts.

Arsha, who saw that, made a puzzled expression. Sarah Leoris, who shook her head with flushed cheeks, looked like a dog wagging her tail after eating a treat from her owner.

‘Sarah Leoris. Was it that kind of character?’

No.

She was an unlucky little boy who was indifferent to the evaluation of the people she knew and did not care much about the praise of everyone around her. Didn’t she herself say that?

But, to see Sarah wagging her tail in delight at the reaction of a commoner man.

Arsha was confused.

“Swordhorn said that you recorded 10 medals in this entrance exam, right?”

It was John’s words. It’s not a very meaningful word. It’s just throwing fire to kindle the fire of conversation.

Normally, he would have answered in a short answer or ignored it.

However, this time it was different. The academy entrance exam was an arena of serious competition between himself and Sarah.

To talk about it was something Arsha was grateful for.

“Right. If the opponent wasn’t a wyvern, even more would have been possible.”

Glance!

Arsha said that while glancing sideways at Sarah. Her words implied her flaunting of her Sarah. ‘You, the wizard, did only that, but I, the prosecutor, did as much as this,’ she said.

“Awesome. I only had two.”

Sierra clapped her hands.

It was commendable that a commoner won two medals. Of course, Arsha wasn’t a lighthearted woman enough to compliment a commoner she was seeing for the first time today.

“Sierra, you haven’t been training properly in a while. Two are great achievements. That’s great too.”

“Ooh, I was just lucky. And it was only possible because Yohan taught me well.”

By the way, the situation is interesting. It wasn’t particularly strange for John to praise Sierra. Judging by the atmosphere of the two, it seems that they are like that.

The problem here is Sarah’s reaction. Sarah Leoris looked at John with an expression that she didn’t like. It’s a vulgar expression, but I wonder if it’s like a puppy.

Arsha couldn’t understand Sara’s expression at all.

‘No matter how I look at it, I don’t think she’s the Sarah I know.’

Could it be that that guy is an assassin wearing Sarah Leoris’ skin, and they are being taken to the assassin’s stronghold?

It was such a stupid idea.

Arsha’s attention was directed to a man named John.

A man that Sarah would personally invite to a banquet.

How many medals did he win?

“I am one. This is embarrassing because I think I have the least.”

John said, scratching the back of his head.

A question mark appeared on Arsha’s face at that answer. Her gaze returns to Sarah.

Arsha’s eyes asked Sarah. That commoner, why did you invite me?

She only answered him with a small smile. Her answer was silence. She didn’t like it

John Baker.

There is definitely something about that commoner who seems like nothing special except for his overly handsome face. Arsha’s touch sent her such messages over and over again.

‘Could it be that Sarah Leoris is a master who deserves attention?’

With that in mind, I observed him. Then he discovered a surprising fact.

‘The dagger he carries around his waist. It’s not an ordinary thing.’

If she were asked what she was good at next to swordsmanship, Arsha would answer without saying it was emotion.

Since her childhood, she has seen all kinds of valuables and rare weapons, and she has a special feeling. Even the best appraisers in the family weren’t as accurate as Arsha’s eyes.

‘It’s at least a B-class weapon.’

B-grade or higher weapons are highly valued even by aristocratic families. Needless to say, Arsha’s own corpse is a C+ grade weapon. The highest-ranking weapon in the Swordhorn family is an A-class weapon, and it is more of an heirloom that has been handed down as the mark of the family head.

A commoner, not a bourgeois, looking for a B-class weapon or higher?

It is not difficult. It is impossible.

Arsha’s interest in Yohan grew even more.

Hee hee!

Her horse chirped and announced that she had reached her destination. It is the mansion of the Leoris family.

The home of the Leoris family is located in the southern part of the continent. The royal residence was like a branch of the family. However, such a branch was much larger than the mansions of quite a few great nobles.

“Wow….”

She looked up at her mansion with a bewildered look, just as Sierra had seen her carriage for the first time.

One mansion contains splendor and grandeur that can never be seen in the western streets full of commoners.

Sara went to the front of the party, turned her body around and raised her skirt in an elegant manner with her back to the mansion to greet them.

“Welcome to the Leoris family.”

The mansion door opened at the same time as she greeted her.

-I wish that child was my daughter.

The year Arsha Swordhorn turned five.

Arsha’s mother said so at her social party, the first time she attended as a daughter of the Sword Horn family. Her eyes were on the daughter of the Leoris family.

– What a great kid. It seems that you have already been invited to work together at the Mage Tower.

-As the youngest person, he contributed a thesis to the Journal of the Royal Sorcery Society. What did I do at that age?

-I wonder if there is no one under the enchantment? The sage of redemption gave birth to a very monster.

-That’s a complete clean fish. How far will the Leoris family prosper?

Arsha Swordhorn’s mother, Victoria Swordhorn, was a woman of great ambition. She comes from a rural aristocratic background, and even though she was married into the Sword Horn family, a promising aristocratic family in the royal capital, her ambition was not quenched. What she wanted was the undeserved title of the king.

Undoubtedly, it is because of her mother that Arsha has made great achievements. Victoria treated her daughter very harshly. Arsha was forced to wield her sword at a very young age in her gymnasium, and had to have her swordsman master before her socialite debut.

It was good though. Even though she became a tool to realize her mother’s desire, her mother smiled at her.

I liked my mother, who greeted me with a happy face when I came back after finishing first in a swordsmanship competition, rather than my father, who didn’t show up at home because of work.

– Mother! I will definitely surpass Sarah Leoris! I will definitely bring back the title of the best late exponent of the royal road!

Arsha made a commitment.

To be the daughter that mother needs.

To be recognized for the value of her own existence.

I will surpass Sarah Leoris.

She trained her swordsmanship so that her hands were swollen, and she improved her stamina by running in her gymnasium without days off.

Fortunately, she had a talent. The moment her talent and her hard work were added, she was able to put all of herself into her sword. Before long, her swordsmanship outlawed all of her peers, and even the most powerful people in her hands had to kneel before Arsha’s sword.

But she couldn’t be satisfied with that alone. All she wanted was her own fame to cover Sarah Leoris. She was drawing a situation where other aristocrats at a social party looked at her first. However, it was not easy.

-It seems that the daughter of the Arsha family has already become a sword user.

– Incredibly fast. You can call me the future sword master.

– Did you hear? The lady of the Leoris family has reached the level of the 5th circle!

-5 Circles? Is that true?

– Oh my God. More than the sage of detection. Are you thinking of becoming an Archmage following your father? No, maybe even more….

Arsha Sword Horn has always been a tag. Her story about her was only a side note to her story about Sarah Leoris.

‘We must defeat Sarah Leoris….’

What should I do to prove that I am stronger than Sarah Leoris, and that the daughter of the Swordhorn family is greater than the lady of the Leoris family?

The answer lies in the academy. Rumors spread that Sarah Leoris was suddenly accepted into the academy.

With her skills, she doesn’t have to go through the academy. That’s why most people thought she wouldn’t go to her academy itself. Arsha was one of those people.

But it wasn’t. Sarah Leoris announced her admission to the academy. This was an opportunity for Arsha.

‘A chance to prove that I am better than her.’

So Arsha challenged Sara to a showdown. And the result was her own triumph, apparently her own. It’s definitely her own victory….

‘I’m not sure. For what?’

It’s a subtle feeling that the result of the confrontation ended in misfire.

Arsha had a hunch that the competition between herself and Sara was not yet over.
