A Wish to Grab Happiness

Episode XVI: Karia Birdnick is a Disgusting Woman

Every time you breathe, the pain runs down your throat.

If you move your fingertips slightly, you will be struck by the feeling of stabbing a needle through your spine for thousands. The skin on my back is torn, and the peeled flesh is causing me trouble.

I close my eyelids to see why there is so much pain, and if there is pain, it should have been a moment. Or did Barberidge Birdnick choose to kill me in pain for that insult? That's not a good story either.

When I inhaled the feeling that the dungeon space itself had become cold, along with breathless air, the pain ran down my throat again.

- I did something stupid.

Kalia Birdnick? That's what I tried to spin, but I don't have a word for Loch. A slight whimper would just crawl out of your mouth, and it would only sound like a trembling voice in pain. Bad vision, too. The very motion of opening my eyes was a hundred million robberies, and my eyelids swelled when the guard hit me.

"Good, don't talk. Absolutely, you're an idiot. I wouldn't have needed to risk my life or anything. You fool. You fool."

Only my ears are strange and clear, and only Kalia Birdnick's voice cursing at me even comes in. Yeah, I'd argue with any of them, but I don't have that technique right now.

"Can't you even open your eyes... at all, your mouth will open, it will hurt, but be patient"

Through a wooden container, mucus is pushed into the mouth, such as a loose, egumpy and bitter press to solidify. My whole body was unintentionally stuffy with mucus like it was purely intended to afflict people, and the pain ran on my wound.

In addition, slowly that mucus flows down your throat, so it will remain in place at all times.

"It's a herb that I would use to concentrate, but it's easier to drink there now. I'm not going to be fully healed, but I'm sure the wound won't be putrefied."

Herbs, I see. I only used it as a pill sometimes, but when I paste it, it tastes like this. I don't want to see the herb again. The tongue is fortunately used to unsavory things, but I've never had the bitterness of crawling and slipping through my tongue like this mess.

"... I'll keep my horse near the cabin behind the fort tomorrow morning. You use it to go home. The mission is over."

I felt the cloth wrapped around my wound. This is being treated. Just like Arueno once did to me. Strange. Be nice from Kalia Birdnick, I never touched it before. All that was given was insult and violence.

Even so, now, I am outraged by the ramblings against her and have been treated as a result. It's a behavior that I suspect has gone insane while I'm at it.

"Be impotent... but it's just good to be blind"

What was just right? I couldn't ask back, but Kalia Birdnick's thin fingertips gently touched the wound and covered it with a cloth.

"I... oh, stay here. As a knight, I was entrusted with my work on the front lines. So I guess I'll never see you again."

As in solitary, Kalia Birdnick goes on with her words.

Her temperament and delicacy lived side by side in the words. I don't know what's going on, but I push something to death, and I mumble confused to put it into words. That is indisputable and shows how high she is.

Oh, I see. It was at this height that I had my respect.

A human being named Kalia Birdnick is very unlikely to be good. He may even be a discriminator until violent, against the weak. But his heart is undoubtedly noble and honorable.

"Bye. Be a master. I'll remember your name, Rugis. Don't die easy."

When I finished wrapping the cloth, I rubbed my hair up for a moment that I still couldn't breathe, Kalia Birdnick said.

What are you talking about? Of course, I don't think I want to see you. It doesn't mean a lifetime goodbye anymore. This fort is where you can come if you want to come from the king's capital. First, the glory of Kalia Birdnick is not yet over. After this, they should compete in a swordsmanship tournament that opens up as a hustle and bustle against internal and external threats, making their strength known to the country and making their place in the Knights firm.

I said I knew that fact. When so, why? What made that word sound really, like an eternal goodbye?

- Really, it's good to be blind. I didn't look so good right now.

The sore throat cannot raise any questions, nor can it stop her.

Only the words echoed underground, and with the footsteps, Kalia Birdnick walked away.

"Terrible fit, but well done. If you can get home alive from this request, you're superior."

Richard's grandfather's praise in his ear did not strike me at all when he returned to King's Capital without drinking or eating, shaken by a horse.

Whole body swelling has been removed, but back pain remains, and who said it wasn't a dangerous job?

"Dangerous work is like bringing him or killing someone in the middle of a battlefield. This is... well, it's a five-and-a-half minute thing, and it's dangerous."

"I was an idiot. He said he swallowed your words... Oh, no. Kalia Birdnick said he'd stay in the fort. Send him the reward."

That's what I said as I received a cheap reward for the boulder in a cloth bag, even though I was twice exposed to the danger to my life. I am also grateful that I was treated. It would be dangerous for a boulder for me to go to that fort, but I could send you a reward.

But when he heard it, Richard's grandfather scratches his chin beard with a wrinkle between his eyebrows.

"What the hell? I'm sorry. If you're a birdnick lady, we're talking about leaving the Knights and taking care of them on the territory."

The wound opened when he crusaded the Great Warcraft. With that said, Grandpa stirred Yale.

Oh, I see. You know what? - Okay, okay.

The pain in the wound I was feeling from all over my body temporarily stops.

I was still a big fool, a fool. Why didn't I die? Why would Karia Birdnick, who is supposed to be a Knights member, stay in the fort? And why was the last word so strangely about to disappear?

I gave up all these questions and came back here like an idiot.

"Grandpa."

My mouth scratches are nagging. I didn't know that. I stare at Richard's grandfather's face, who gives him a suspicious eyelid.

Karia Birdnick. That woman, she's a nasty bitch. Oh, really, nasty woman.

"I'll get you some money - I want to ask you for a job"

I don't want to see that face again.
